The end of 2016 is finally here, and I want to take a moment to thank everyone that visits my fan page on Facebook and blog for their continued support. It has been an eventful and busy year, and I've met and photographed many amazing individuals. I'm looking forward to another incredible year in 2017 and build upon my photo studio.
For my final blog post of the year, I thought I'd share some of my favorite shots from a portrait session I never got around to sharing. These are of the Miss Laredo America Pageant winners for 2016. Alexis and Sydney held the titles of Miss Teen Laredo and Miss Laredo, respectively, for this past year. I shot these a year ago and I'm so happy to share them with you. The shoot was a breeze with these lovely young ladies and their personalities really come through in their images.
Thanks again everyone and Happy New Year!
I've had many opportunities to photograph Alec and Sienna (and their family) over the past few years, so when I found out that Sienna would be representing Princess Pocahontas in 2016, I was thrilled at the possibility of maybe photographing them again. I'm so grateful that they did come to me and as always, I worked my butt off to provide them with amazing images. Of course, my job photographing these beautiful people was made easy with the amazing costumes they wore, which were equally as beautiful. By the way, these costumes were created by their Mom, who has made other gorgeous costumes in the past. I'm so glad to finally be able to share these images with you. Enjoy!
What an experience, shooting portraits on site at an event. Bringing all the elements of a portrait session to an event can be a stressful situation, but thankfully I had my lovely wife, Lisa, helping out. Between me shooting portraits and Lisa presenting the images and collecting orders, we managed to have a successful shooting day. Everyone looked amazing, so I had a tough time picking my favorites. Enjoy!
Continuing with my effort to keep content coming to this blog... this set of images comes from a photo assignment from a few months ago. A co-worker hired me to photograph her softball team just before one of their games. The kids were great to work with and everything turned out great except for the super busy background. Really, I only had two options: shoot with the sun to my back and have a somewhat clean background, or shoot with the sun to my subject's back and have a busy street with cars parked as my background. Of course, I opted for the sun behind the kids backs because I didn't want to photograph everyone squinting. I ended up replacing the busy background and was very happy with the results. Here are some sample images from this shoot. Enjoy!
This set of images were produced as ads for the Laredo School of Contemporary Dance's annual showcase. The LSCD is an amazing dance school with very talented instructors and students. If I had a daughter, this is the place where I would want her to learn to dance. For more info on this school, click here. Here are some of the talented dancers I had the pleasure to work with in creating the ads. Enjoy!
